Our
plans for 2008 include a repeat of the breeding below. These puppies
have grown up beautifully, with sound bodies and minds, outgoing,
healthy temperaments, and that elusive "whippet type,"
or the qualities that make a whippet a whippet. Candy is due to
come in season in January, and depending on the exact date, we
hope to have puppies in March, ready to go home in May or June.
If you're interested, look over our contract
(nothing complicated there) drop us a note at timbreblue@gmail.com,
and fill out our puppy questionnaire.
You also might want to join the Timbreblue
Pupwatch email list and/or check the forum
on this website for updates. We don't take deposits till puppies
are four weeks old, but it's a good idea to get on our waiting
list if you think you might want a pup.
We
also plan to breed Diamond
to Ch Sowagla Myth Maker
this year. We've tried that one before, but Diamond faked the
whole pregnancy (we think she did it to get extra treats)

Timbreblue
is delighted to introduce Candy's first litter. The puppies were
whelped March 16, 2007 and we are hoping for great things from
these pups. The sire is the beautiful Ch Bohem Just in Time, owned
by Nancy Doucette in Salem, Virginia.
Candy
gave us an evening litter (as opposed to between midnight and six,
when her mother chose to whelp) of eight healthy puppies - three
males and five females! They're in various shades and markings of
fawn brindle and one is a blue brindle male. Two are parti-colored
(predominantly white with brindle spots) -- a male and a female.
It's hard to tell exactly what the shade of brindle will be at this
age. They usually lighten as they age.
This
litter was planned even before Candy was born. I met Nancy online
when she was searching for a whippet puppy about seven years ago.
She lived in Florida but had ties to Virginia and planned to move
back to Salem in a few years. We kept in touch during the time she
got Justin from Bo Bengtson at Bohem Whippets in California, acquired
her second dog Nicky, Ch Whispa JP Bohem TInsel, from Mrs. Fukie
Yoshimoto in Japan.
I
"watched" Justin and Nicky finish their conformation championships
and followed Nicky's coursing career. Finally Nancy did move to
Virginia and I was able to meet the boys in person! They were everything
I'd hoped for and expected. Now the only barrier was waiting till
they were older. We only use older males (six-seven at the youngest)
for breeding because any serious genetic problems usually reveal
themselves by then.
We've
always been admirers of the Bohem dogs and Bohem has a reputation
as a healthy line, so we weren't too worried. And sure enough, Justin
and Nicky were both echoed clear of heart defects and they'd already
passed all the other clearances for breeding.
We'll
post pictures and updates here as often as possible, and you're
welcome to join the Timbreblue
Pupwatch forum for news about these puppies and our plans for
future litters. We also have a Pupwatch
email list at Yahoo if you prefer to receive the updates in
your inbox rather than by visiting a forum.
We
stay in touch with all our owners through phone calls and email.
We also have an email group where they get to know each other, share
suggestions, stories and tips. Our annual reunion is scheduled for
June and will be in Brandywine, Maryland, at the home of John, Karen,
Kate, and Angel Haynes. The whole Timbreblue family is invited.
Meanwhile, meet
Justin and Candy!
